Scaramucci told the magazine that, unlike other Trump administration officials, he has no interest in media attention. He described Bannon’s desire for media attention using sexually explicit terms.
“I’m not Steve Bannon, I’m not trying to suck my own c—,” Scaramucci said, according to the New Yorker. “I’m not trying to build my own brand off the f—— strength of the president. I’m here to serve the country.”
Later Thursday, Scaramucci tweeted about his “colorful language.”
Scaramucci later further reflected on the incident, saying in a subsequent tweet, “I made a mistake in trusting in a reporter.”
