Manafort has been co-operating with congressional investigations of Russian meddling in U.S. election

A spokesman for President Donald Trump’s former campaign chairman, Paul Manafort, says FBI agents executed a search warrant at one of his homes.
Spokesman Jason Maloni says Manafort co-operated with the agents as he has “consistently” done.
Manafort has been the subject of a longstanding FBI investigation into his dealings in Ukraine and work for the country’s former president, Viktor Yanukovych. Special counsel Robert Mueller is also investigating Manafort as part of his probe into Russia’s meddling in the 2016 U.S. election and any possible collusion with Trump associates.
Manafort has denied any wrongdoing. He has also co-operated with congressional committees investigating the election interference. Manafort has turned over documents to the intelligence and judiciary committees in the Senate.
Manafort led the Trump campaign for several months until stepping down in August 2016.
He reportedly attended a meeting at Trump Tower two months earlier that arose after Natalia Veselnitskaya, described as a “Russian government lawyer,” sent emails to the Trump campaign team with the promise of information that could damage the campaign of Democratic rival Hillary Clinton.
The FBI search was first reported Wednesday by the Washington Post, which said it occurred July 26.
